Federally funded legal aid programs
Check out the websites to see if you are eligible to receive help from a legal aid program. Eligibility is often limited by amount of your income, and the type of case you have such as legal matters that impact your ability to meet basic human needs for protection from violence and abuse, access to medical assistance, subsistence income, or access to decent affordable housing.
- Land of Lincoln Legal Assistance Foundation provides legal services for civil matters to low income residents in 65 counties in the southern half of Illinois.
- Legal Assistance Foundation of Chicago provides legal services for civil matters to low income residents of Cook County.
- Prairie State Legal Services provides legal services in civil matters to residents of 35 counties in the northern half of Illinois, excluding Cook and Will counties.
- Will County Legal Assistance Program, Inc. provides legal services in civil matters to residents of Will County.
